Jayden MACKLIN-CORDES

Postdoctoral researcher

ORCiD

Teams : DiLiS

  Training and professional background
  Main publications and conferences

I am a postdoctoral researcher in linguistics at the DDL specialising in historical linguistics and typology, particularly using quantitative and phylogenetic methods. I completed my PhD in 2021 at the Ancient Language Lab, University of Queensland, evaluating a novel method of phylogenetic tree inference, combining phonotactic data from Pama-Nyungan languages with more traditional lexical cognate data. I am currently affiliated with the EVOGRAM project (Marc Allassonnière-Tang, Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle), investigating the evolutionary dynamics of nominal classification systems, and the OzSpace project (Bill Palmer, University of Newcastle), where I am developing a comparative database of linguistic spatial reference systems in Australian languages.
