Scientific mediation

You are here : Home /  Science & Society / Scientific mediation

The Dynamique Du Langage research unit has been involved for several years to share its knowledge and share it with the general public. This moment of sharing and transmission is made via participation in scientific events, recurrent scientific mediation actions such as the science festival, the Pop'Science festival, the day of the DYS, the week of the brain ... and well others.
Come and discover the activities we offer.

On May 22, 2023, for the first evening of the Pint of Science 2023 festival, a festival where we drink beers while listening to scientists presenting subjects they care about, Elisa Demuru will speak in an evening entitled "Animal communication: from sounds to behavior". "The Hippies of the Forest? Bonobos between Myth and Reality" in the bar Tire-toi une bûche at 71 Rue Bugeaud 69006, Lyon.

The program of this Lyon edition taking place over three days in different bars can be found online.

The 4th edition of the Pop'Sciences festival will take place from May 12 to 14, 2023 in Villeurbane. On this occasion you will be able to find, at the Raphaël De Barros sports complex, Laurène Barbier, Jennifer Krzonowski, et Lucie Métral who will lead workshops on the diversity of languages around the theme From one language to another.

All the program of the festival is to be found online.

On February 28 at 7pm at the Longessaigne multi-purpose room, Katarzyna Pisanski will give a presentation to the general public and then, with Fanny Vialle and Florent Vivert, two clowns in a day hospital, will discuss current research on laughter with the public.

This intervention takes place during a public rehearsal of the company La Dernière Baleine, after a creation residency at La Fabrik, for their new show « Le Tonnerre dans la Montagne - la naissance du rire » qui interroge sur l'invention de l'humour.

Françoise ROSE will lead the conference "À la découverte des 6 000 langues du monde" at the Centre Multimédia of Lamastre on March 1st at 5pm for the Université Populaire du Vivarais.

Since 2013, we've been developing a range of scientific mediation workshops around the research unit's research themes. We offer three activities per workshop, but each activity can be offered independently. These workshops have been developed with the general public in mind, so they are suitable for both children and adults (click on the images for a description in French of the workshops):

Sounds in language
At the heart of sounds of the world's languages!
Child language acquisition
How do we learn to speak?
Brain & Language
Where is language in the brain?
Language diversity
L'incroyable diversité des langues dans le monde
Linguistic diversity around a game
