Cadre de l'étude et objectifs

Le projet vise la modélisation de l’ordre d’acquisition des mots du lexique productif des enfants et de la justesse de production en prenant en compte comme facteurs explicatifs les caractéristiques psycholinguistiques des mots, mais également leurs caractéristiques distributionnelles dans la langue et/ou le langage adressé à l’enfant. Ce travail mené à ce jour porte principalement sur des populations d’enfants monolingues tout venant et à des enfants plurilingues. Il porte également sur des enfants exposés au Bébé Signe (association systématique d’un signe à la parole). Cette dernière population est investiguée en collaboration avec S. Gobet en délégation CNRS au laboratoire et co-encadrante du doctorat de L. Métral. Bien que les utilisateurs de cette pratique vantent de manière assez consensuelle ses avantages, il n’existe que très peu de travaux empiriques ayant mesuré les effets de la pratique sur la communication entre adultes et enfants, ni même sur son effet sur le développement langagier des enfants.
