Valorization

You are here : Home /  Science & Society / Valorization

Research is at the heart of a laboratory and is highlighted through research valorization initiatives. These initiatives help enhance research and development values within a framework of scientific innovation. This is the case for the laboratory, which, among other things, launched an innovative project by creating a board game on linguistic diversity or a “DYS kit”.

This is not a table

Quentin Zinzius and Marc Allassonnière-Tang created a short film as part of Symbiose, a competition whose “principle is simple: pairs, consisting of a scientist and a filmmaker, have 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film.” This edition took place during the Paris Science Festival, and the pair finished in 2nd place.

Helping Hands

This project, grounded in a reflection on the links between linguistic research and civil society, seeks to address the needs of Burmese asylum seekers in the Lyon area, who face social isolation and the complexity of administrative procedures. Through a participatory fieldwork approach, meetings and personal testimonies made it possible to identify the main challenges associated with settling in France.

Societal Translation of Scientific Expertise on Linguistic Diversity

The TraDiLi project (Societal Translation of Scientific Expertise on Linguistic Diversity), funded by LabEx ASLAN in 2024–2025, explored how ASLAN researchers specializing in linguistic diversity can contribute to societal engagement, particularly within the Linguistic Diversity and its Sources axis of the Dynamics of Language laboratory. Over three months, surveys and interviews with both researchers and local stakeholders (organizations, institutions, associations, companies) helped map existing initiatives and identify common challenges, opportunities for collaboration, and mutual benefits.

The Report on the Societal Translation Potential of Scientific Expertise on Linguistic Diversity can be found in French HERE, and its summary version in French HERE.
